Abe Myers ’18 ILB/RB

Abraham Myers attended Big Walnut High School where he competed in football, basketball, and track through his sophomore year and then football and track through his junior and senior years.

Abraham strives to excel and stays after practice in the weight room, watching film, or in the ring. In football, Abraham plays middle linebacker and also played runningback in 2017.  In track, Abraham throws the discus in addition to running in the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 relays, long jumping, triple jumping, and high jumping.

In track, Abraham holds several meet/school records as a thrower and earned 8th place on the podium at the Ohio State Track Meet his freshman and sophomore years in discus.

Abe was an early inductee into the BW Hall of Fame in 2016 in addition to being named Rookie of the Year and earning the High Points Award for the year.

During the 2017 spring season, Abe set new records in discus for the Delaware Elite Eight Meet, the Ohio Capital Conference (OCC), and for Big Walnut High School. His PR at a meet is 178’7″.

His junior year, Abe placed fifth at the Ohio State Track Meet in discus. He also made it to the OCC in long jump and competed in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.

Abraham is a scholar athlete and maintains a 3.3 GPA. He scored a 29 on his ACT. He is dedicated to his extended family and spends time working on his grandparents’ farms during the summer. Abe serves on the Principal Leadership Committee at Big Walnut High School and has participated in the Art National Honor Society and the French National Honor Society. He leads with strong character and was one of two students selected from Big Walnut for the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award.

Abe has loved playing football with his brother, Eli Myers ’18.
